Our chapter was invited to the heritage Hunt Holiday Gala as mentioned in the last John Marshall newsletter. Here is a copy of the invitation that went out to five wine chapters in the area.  Reservations are required if you wish to attend the event. The person to contact and phone number is at the bottom.  You can pay at the door but you do need to reserve your seat.

ANNUAL WINE HOLIDAY GALA TO BE HOSTED
BY THE HERITAGE HUNT WINE CHAPTER!

On November 30, 2002, The Heritage Hunt Chapter of the American Wine Society (AWS) will host their Annual Wine Chapter Holiday Gala.  The Black Tie (optional) event will last from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evening in the Golf Club's Grand Ballroom.

Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club's Cellar Master, Andée Franklin, will leave no cases unopened as she selects wines from France, South America, South Africa, New Zealand, California, and Virginia for your tasting pleasure.  Each attendee will receive a personal gift, which will be the 22-ounce large Grand Cuvee glass.  This glass will certainly enhance the enjoyment of red wine selections!  A beautiful souvenir of a memorable occasion, the glass is engraved with The Heritage Hunt and American Wine Society logos.

Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club's Chef Tom will compliment the wines with his deluxe menu!  Featured will be butler passed canapés, a collection of international fruits and cheeses, chef carved Steamship Round of Beef, seasonal vegetables, and a mirror of Viennese pastries including petit fours, éclairs, napoleons, and cannoli.

Well-respected composer, Marc Clements, will provide tasteful keyboard and guitar selections with his musical entourage.  The evening’s excitement will be enhanced with numerous drawings for lovely door prizes and some lucky guest will take home a substantial amount of cash as a result of our ever-popular 50/50 drawing.

You will have the opportunity to meet numerous wine industry luminaries as well as knowledgeable members of The Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., John Marshall, and Heritage Hunt Chapters of the American Wine Society.  The Bull Run Mountain Tasting Group and The Knights of the Vine will also be represented in significant numbers. The entire community of Heritage Hunt is invited to swing into the spirit of the Holiday Season with us!

All participants will receive five tickets to taste the wines of their choice.  Additional tastings and wine by the glass tickets will be available for cash purchase. Cost for this fabulous evening is $100 per couple or $50 per person.  Cost for those who are members of any of the four wine chapters is $45.00 per person or $90.00 per couple.  Payment can be mailed ahead of time or pay at the door with cash or check.  Contact Clare Keating at (703) 743-5304 as soon as possible to reserve your evening's enjoyment.  Participation in this wonderful celebration will be strictly limited.  All proceeds gained from this event will support community needs and the American Wine Society Education Foundation.  The Heritage Hunt Wine Chapter is a non-profit organization.
