JUNE MEETING:

Karen Stokes took us throughout Spain last month, re-living her recent trip there and sharing wines and experiences with us. Spain, as many wine producing countries, does not have only one area that produces wine; rather, wine is produced almost everywhere. Because of this, we were not able to visit and taste wines from all areas, but the wines selected by Karen showed the country well. Listed below are the wines tasted, the first two being the social wines, the next two whites, and the next five being red.

As you can see, we did not visit some of the “bigger” areas in Spain, but this was still quite a comprehensive tasting. And, along with the wines, Karen had prepared various tapas for us to nibble. Thanks again, Karen, for creating and sharing a nice Spanish evening with us!

JULY MEETING:

And now for something completely different. Mike Schlosser will be presenting the meeting this month and has entitled it as “Change! Get out of your rut of drinking the same kinds of wine.” As always, Mike’s presentations will get you thinking a bit, and will provide a great opportunity to try something new. Try it, you never know, maybe you’ll like it! The meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 16th at St. Mary’s Church. The gathering will begin at 7:30 p.m. while the formal meeting should get underway at 8:00 p.m. Please RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you are planning to attend so we will have enough of everything.
