APRIL MEETING: 

Carl Brandhorst led us on an adventure journey through Austria last month.  He provided great background information and supplemented it with his first-hand experiences of traveling through the countryside and wine regions.  Since Austrian wines are not as popular as they should be, they are a bit more difficult to find, but Carl did a superb job in procuring many great examples for us to experience.  Following are the wines we tasted:

As you can see we had many great wines, both white and red, to sample.  Thanks again, Carl, for leading us through these wines. And, to help get things underway, John Zamarra offered a couple of bottles of his newly-bottled wines for us to try.

MAY MEETING: 

Summer is fast approaching and for easy sipping during the warmer weather, Grant Crandall will be presenting a variety of wines, one of which could become your new summertime favorite.  Grant will be presenting wines within the theme of ABC (and PG), or if you need a translation, Anything But Chardonnay (and Pinot Gris).  Plan to come out and try these wines.  The meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2005, at St. Mary's Church.  The gathering will begin at 7:30 p.m. while the formal meeting should get underway at 8:00 p.m.  Please RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you are planning to attend so we will have enough of everything.  Call 703-941-2384 or complete the following RSVP form. 


See you on the 20th!   Looking into the future, the following meeting will be on Friday, June 17th.
